Turning organisational differences into dynamic discourse.

Founded by David Kantor in 2014, The KANTOR INSTITUTE offers accredited training programs for individuals and organizations to become certified to use our successful consulting tools the Four Player Model™ and Theory of Structural Dynamics™.

KANTOR INSTITUTE applies David Kantor's groundbreaking empirical research, known as Structural Dynamics, which revealed a fundamental structure to all communication, to construct series of psychometric instruments that provides insight into individual and group behaviors. Structural Dynamics provides the modern business a system-like solution to the most common communication challenges experienced in any human organization.

The theory of Structural Dynamics improves face-to-face communications, so your organization can turn interpersonal differences into dynamic discourse.

KANTOR INSTITUTE’s Four Player Model™ and theory of Structural Dynamics ™ consist of practices, instruments, user reports, a team instrument, team reports, debriefs with a licensed practitioner, and team or organizational workshops and training. All designed to turn organizational differences into dynamic discourse which moves your team, organization, or enterprise forward, further, faster.

The Structural Dynamics model is applied across four key areas:

Building psychometric instruments and tools for expert Structural Dynamics practitioners.

Helping the leaders of global organizations to build their models and in doing so, become more conscious and inter-personally effective.

Training and certifying practitioners in Structural Dynamics through Dialogix – our partner organization. We offer a series of accredited programs which are designed and led by Dialogix. They offer opportunities for leaders, change agents, consultants and facilitators who are committed to changing their organizations in ways which call for people to think and act very differently—to turn differences into discourse.

Empirical research is behind everything we do, KANTOR INSTITUTE continues to validate the importance and effectiveness of Structural Dynamics in partnership with the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology.

The Instruments illuminate an actionable perspective on how to improve communication outcomes in all settings. Rather than just describe an individual’s profile as a static entity, these instruments provide coaching on how to expand the behavioral repertoire, manage reactions in high stakes settings and find organizations that are the best fit with an individual’s profile.

The Baseline Survey: Individual Instrument & User Report

The "baseline" instrument identifies an individual's typical behavioral propensities in an everyday low stakes setting. It also provides perspective on that person's behavioral repertoire and their ability to move fluidly among the available actions. Also, the baseline report contrasts an individual's private and public personas and helps him/her reflect on the differences.

THE Baseline Survey: Team Instrument & TEAM Report

Understanding the interplay of communication profiles within a team is a key element of improving overall effectiveness. The team instrument looks at a group’s self-reported effectiveness and uses their collective profiles as a basis for diagnosing the contributing factors. The instrument also predicts the ways in which teams will typically get stuck and allows practitioners to make actionable recommendations for change.

Day-to-day life is a constant interplay between the interior world of an individual and the exterior world in which they are operating. Often times, this intersection is easy and we are able to move freely and be our best selves. Other times, there is a friction, something about the external world that provokes us, causes our emotions to intensify – “raises the stakes” for us. The purpose of this instrument is to help you better understand what raises the stakes for you, how you typically respond, and how you can more effectively manage yourself in those moments.

In Reading the Room, renowned systems psychologist and family therapist David Kantor applies his theory of Structural Dynamics to help leaders and coaches understand and improve communication within their teams. Written to help readers understand the reasons why leaders and teams get along—or don't—when they communicate in a group, this book will serve as the leader's “go to” resource for insight and perspective in leading their team.

An exploration of family organization and behavior, Inside the Family presents an investigation of the complete family in its natural setting. In Inside the Family, David Kantor and William Lehr delve into the family, probing and analyzing everything from the locks on the doors to the way members deal with a crisis. In the process of collecting research for this book, trained observers lived with families and interviewed them in their houses. From this wealth of information, Kantor and Lehr extracted the fundamental processes common to all families. The result is a systematic framework that can be used to analyze all major features of family life.

In his more than thirty years of experience as a therapist, Dr. David Kantor has learned that our lovers are mirrors for showing us who we are and who we can become. In My Lover, Myself, readers will learn how to approach everything in a relationship, from normal difficulties to serious problems, as opportunities for understanding our differences and becoming the best people we can be. Case histories and questionnaires will help lovers share their discoveries and make the journey back to the healing, healthy relationship they promised each other in the beginning.

The art of communication is the language of leadership.
